HELP Disco still wont start .

Think there is probleem with immobiliser, anyone know how to disarm. got no power to the coil leads or distributer.

Is there a fuse located anywhere other than main box?

Can the immobiliser become confused?

Any help would be appreciated. Its a v8

There are two types of immobiliser systems so what model of disco do u have?
If the engine is immobilised then you wouldn't be able to crank the engine, turning the key does nothing.
So start looking for something else the ignition amplifer or ECU fuse for example, There are also fuses in the engine bay on a 300 series there's a fuse box.

Thanks Discool think it maybe a spider problem. Found post on this site and it describes my problem and symptoms. we were at the electrics till half eleven last night. Car had my electrician friend baffled, as none of the voltages added up. The spider diagnosis accounts for this too.

The funny thing was that when i tried to get out my car after breaking down my door was locked thought caught my arm when driving however never done it before and being very small seat too far forward almost immposible to do. If spider breakdown at fault this could be causing it. Taking it out tonight so will keep you informed.

Don't see how it's a spider problem. The spider is part of the immobiliser. If the car was immobilised, you wouldn't get any activity from the engine. No noise, no vibrations, nothing...

Due to your posting of the symptoms of the spider failing and fantastic instructions of how to get too and deal with the problem i am now up and running again.
