Got myself a lovely new 1996 300tdi day before yesterday (got my '93 200tdi for sale now - on the off chance that anyone's interested!) and dash light doesnt come on (the main one, not the warning lights like indicator, handbrake etc). If anyone has changed theirs before and could give me a shove in the right direction i'd be very grateful... or if anyone needs to change theirs and fancies doing a photo step by step then I would be SO SO grateful!

Right, had the facia bit off my step dads crash victim landy today along with the whole dial section. I've replaced my 2 LEDs (circled) with his, which I knew were working and tried it out, but still no dash light! Is it just these 2 LEDs that light it up or are some of the other LEDs actually behind the dash something to do with it too? Anyone got any ideas about what the problem might be please?

LED lights have a polarity. try putting them in the opposit way round to what they are now and you might find they work
ive got blue LED lights fitted into the dash and they look reet good

Thanks Vivnap, gave that a go too but still nothing... I saw the blue sets on ebay and thought they would look pretty good! Though probably a little pointless for me until I get the problem sorted.
The blue ones are on my to-buy list when I do though!
