Yes, thanks. I changed the air dryer, incuding changing out a faulty collet. I had my garage run a new line to the tank, as the previous line had indeed succumbed to exhaust heat. Just need to get it on a ramp again. ASAP.I'd check the air-dryer. Dopey had a leak there once. After that it can only be the line to the storage tank. That one has been known to melt with exhaust blows.

They ARE new bags Alan. A few months ago, the car was on EAS and, whilst reversing a 17'6" trailer with a 19' boat onto the quayside, there was a sudden, steady whoosh of air and the whole shebang dropped to the bumpstops. I was under pressure - pun intended - to get the boat moved to the fixed crane and unloaded into the river. I took valves and pressurised the airsprings, expecting one corner to be flat, but they all inflated...and stayed up to get the job done. Unable to investigate further, they've stayed that way. Clearly a line has a leak somewhere, but I've been unable to get it on a ramp other than MOT time, when my trusted mechanic was too time-pressured (pesky pun again) to investigate it then. My downward spiralling health and strapped-for-cash-ness since then means I have an intimate relationship with my trusty £15.00 air pump far too frequently...
But not on my P38 Keith. Gets to normal ride height ONLY with 85 psi min on fronts, 135-140psi on rears.
Sounds like the reservoir side is naff, but bag side of the system is ok.

Not sure about that if it requires 135psi to inflate the rears. Partially melted pipe bit no hole? Dunno.

'twas a brand new compressor from Kurt and no, it wasnt running continuously. I'd done several hundred miles without issue, then something let go and it dropped onto bump stops.I mean as far as holding air, pressure required to do that I queried earlier, sounds like we need a whole new fred to sort @Jon Dor out so as not to take over poor old Bobs fred @awkwardbob
I do wonder if jondors compressor is running continuously and now knackered anyway

Really? The drop off is with flow, in a sealed static system the pressure will be equal to bag pressure at the end of the pipePressure drops off with distance and it is a square rule so you won't see anything like that at the bags, especially with those 6mm lines.
I was just mentioning that compressor setting as an indicator of safe working load...That's for the tank. the bags shouldn't see that under normal running. Maybe more if towing a trailer due to tow ball wt but really shouldn't need the full puff.
