hi everyone especially you the one who can pinpoint my problem.
I have an 05 td4 that is constantly going into limp mode.
I have done the usual new fuel filter and new m.a.f sensor but still going into limp mode at around 2500 revs .
any advice is welcome ,has someone else had this problem.
cheers in advance
ronnie

but still going into limp mode at around 2500 revs .
first suspect .. on reading that .. be the low pressure fuel pump
how many miles on the current l.p.f.p ??
as they normally last between 70k 'n 100k miles ..

be a page of td4 faults and symptoms here ..
http://tuning-diesels.com/75Zt/R75faults.htm

i don't think the td4's turbo solenoid is mentioned on that link
nor .. the turbo solenoid filter ..
might be worth considering those two ..

does the engine warning light come on ?
do the revs hit a brickwall when you accelerate ? ( that's a failing lp fuel pump symptom )
a diagnostic scan would maybe tell you the fault

You need to be looking at the live data for the low pressure fuel pump. It should give you over 320Kpi at maximum power. Much less and you'll get the symptoms you are seeing;)

Did you replace the maf with a proper Bosch one. If not that could still be your problem.
Mike

But it's more than likely the low pressure pump.

Hi all thanks for the pointers.
The maf was replaced with a Bosch unit brand new.
I ordered a new fuel pump as on occasion I have to give the old one a tap to get it going and it doesn't sound that healthy.
If I wait a second or two before cranking it ,when it fires up it will Rev to 4000 plus then die to 2500 rpm the engine management light comes on at around 2000 rpm.it points to the pump to me will confirm when I put the new one on.
Thanks again
Ronnie
