Hi Guys

I am fairly new to this site, I'm not sure if this is in the right section if not sorry.

I have a few questions regarding my engine change on my 2.5td 90. I put a 200tdi Discovery engine in, since I have had it back form the garage I've not put it on the road.

1- How do I go about informing the DVLA of the change?

2- Is the cylinder Capacity (cc) the same?

3- Would it now class as a modified vehicle?

4- When the V5 is complete and I go to get insurance, Do i need to inform the insurance company that it is a different engine to the original one?

Any help would be appreciated.

1- How do I go about informing the DVLA of the change? Send the v5 to them with new engine number unless the original v5 only says 2.5 diesel

2- Is the cylinder Capacity (cc) the same? yes

3- Would it now class as a modified vehicle? to insurance, yes, as you have a lot more hp

4- When the V5 is complete and I go to get insurance, Do i need to inform the insurance company that it is a different engine to the original one? yes

Hello

Thanks for you help I will get onto it, And get my 90 on the road for when the green lane's open :)

I thought that the are closed between October till April. Well there are some signs up near mine stating that. I may be wrong.

Simple bit on the V5 just put the new engine number on it, If its a disco its on the top of the block on the right hand side as you look at it.

As for ther lanes they might be a TRO Temporary Restriction Order, Designed to stop heavy damage to the lanes, Brownie point there for abaying them :D

It is a Legal road so guess it would be the same as driving down a road that had closed on it for road works or fuzz , I have heard of people saying you can have the vehicle seized and fined but not 100% but would say a Fine would the be least.
