hi everyone,

new poster here, looking for a bit of advice

my 90 has a 2.5 NA in it, which has been just fine until now..

was sat idling today and suddenly i heard what sounds like valves hitting, i shut the engine off. seems like it runs fine apart from the banging noise, which is fairly loud.
checked for oil in water, seems clean althouhg the water does spurt out of the tank, is this kind of pressure normal ? checked for water in the oil, seems clean. also seems to be a fair amount of back pressure, over the last few days i noticed some oil come from the filler (i thought the o ring was on its way out), oil also comes from the dipstick tube and a few days back from one of the bolts that hold the breather pipe (attached to the rocker cover)

any ideas gents ?

my first thoughts were that the belt had slipped a few teeth, or hgf..

does the water pump out of the tank when the engine running , jumped a tooth is possible , unfortunatly so is a blown big end .

hi, when it first happened water was pumping out with the lid of the water tank, i turned it back on to quickly re check and water wasnt pumping out..

check rocker shaft and push rods are operating correctly ,over pressurisation of block is worn bores ,piston, or one or more exhaust valves not opening
