New to the forum, just wanted to say hi....

Hoping to get involved very shortly by purchasing a Discovery...thought it maybe useful to get some advice before I buy TD5 or V8???

So a post in the Discovery section will follow shortly.

more than enough snow to play with here, but unfortunately no disco just yet.

Been searching hard today...but although there is a lot of choice, not one vehicle stands out as perfect...

I guess thats the used car market for you..

S' funny always thought V8 Range Rover drivers were an illiterate group of Gaylords who drank Chartreuse :boink:

prehaps I was a little swift with my typing but the fact is diesel engines are ****.A good v8 on carbs will out weigh the cons over a diesel by far and if you run lpg thats cheap miles.:boink::drum:

and you know it:D

Hello and welcome,

V8 or TD5? Depends on your dosh.
You can pick a v8 disco real cheap these days Boomers new one was £1200 ish, I think. Looks like a bargain to me.

But...

I have a 3.5 V8 carb 90, that I love but **** me it drinks. I would defo consider going for a 300tdi disco if you have any concerns about fuel consumption. I'm going to the Salisbury this weekend and I expect to stop for fuel 3 times there and back thats £100 on petrol.

Good luck with your search.
