Hi,
This is the first time I have ever joined one of these websites. I live in Wellington New Zealand. I am married (35 Years) with 2 sons.
I have a very sick Disco 2 Td5 manual at the moment done 160,000 kms. Blew the Top Hose By-pass and cooked the engine on the 3rd of June this year.:( Have a new Td5 motor coming from Land Rover UK which should be here in approx 2 weeks. While it's been off the road have purchased a lot of "goodies" from Gary Wood at Td5 Alive. Next week I am going to "facelift" the old girl with the later headlamps. Have already purchased everything for the job.
We have a holiday home at Lake Taupo as I love Trout fishing and I also chase the Marlin in the Bay of Plenty and off New Plymouth in the summer time.
I am mad on Warbirds and I own a few "rivets" in a Catalina PBY-5A WW2 Flyingboat. I have also flown in a P40 Kittyhawk and in January I have been promised a flight in a P51 Mustang, I am really looking forward to that.
Travelled to the UK in September 2007 for the Autumn Airshow at Duxford just to see "Black 6" the Messerschmitt Me109-G2 fly. I count myself very lucky as she crashed the following month and I saw her again at Hendon in October last year.
I am a keen fullbore target rifle shooter and I live about 2 kms from Trentham Rifle Range.
We also have 2 Birman cats.
I had about 6 new Nissan Patrols over the years and always thought they were the bees knees until we purchased our Land Rover. The green blood is flowing very thickly through my veins now and I have fallen in love with my Land Rover.
Cheers
John

hello chap, welcome to the forum! Glad you've got a landie eh :D Those patrols aren't bad though. A thick skin, and a sense of humor and you'll fit right in here, it's not like any of those other "serious" LR fora!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Here is a pic of the Disco taken about 2 hours before I seized the engine. **** ignorance is bliss!!!

Here is the latest pic of the Disco after I did the headlamp upgrade this week. Can't wait to get her back on the road.
