Hi Everyone,
I have decided to join the group as im abit of a novis to land rover projects. When i passed my driving test my first car was a long wheel base series 3, which had loads of fun with. Now being middle aged i would like to rekindle my love for the landy. I don't have a lot of experience mechanical wise but keen to get my hands dirty. I have been looking for a 88 version as garage space is small. I have come across 1972 petrol series 3 that as been sat for a while and the brakes are ceased on,done very low milage.I am going to have a look at it. This is where you kind people come in.Can any body suggest what to look out for many thanks. T

Welcome:).

Mechanical stuff is mostly DIYable its the rust that's the killer. Chassis and bulkhead need to be solid.

Good luck:).

Hello and welcome:)
rust is the killer, in you can get someone that knows landys to have a look with you, or take loads of pics and ask away.

Hi and welcome!

Main issues as mentioned are rust in the chassis and bulkhead. If either are rusty, price it accordingly or keep looking. Original engines are a bonus for originality. An overdrive is also very desirable.

when you get a Landy, don’t forget some pics too!
