I did yes the various connectors go dodgy and the contact becomes intermittent.
If you want to do it properly then disconnect the battery (the right way for your car) wait 30 mins then take apart all the connections and clean them up, then put it all back together.
A fault code will save a lot of time though
 
Good to hear and thanks for the tip. From reading many forum threads on this, it seems to be a common problem. I've had the drivers seat trim off today to look for the yellow connectors, but can't see them to check.
