Hello everyone,
Thought I'd better get on here and start asking for advice. I've had my Series III soft top for a couple of months now and have been working slowly through all the niggles:
- leaky fuel pipes still not finished -drawing in air but now not p***ing out petrol!
- slow running - tracked down to sticking distributor advance weights
- erratic running - tracked down to missing distributor advance weight springs! Buy new dissy!
- lazy steering - adjusted steering box
- still lazy steering - steering arm to nearside knuckle bolts falling out!
- slowly trying to stop diff leaks, not helped by having to helicoil half the hub bolts...
- rubbish brakes - adjusted up
- no hand brake - adjusted up
- dead battery - replace
- flat batteries - new alternator - no joy - re-crimp alternator connectors joy but annoyed!
Well I'm getting more use out of my workshop than I used to...happy days
