Hello to everyone. After two Range Rovers I have decided to try out a Disco.
I've just traded in my trusty (!) P38 for an '03 Discovery-2 with 46k on the clock. She's a facelift model, very clear all over (as you'd expect on this mileage) although she does look as if she's been sitting around alot having an easy life.
The discs are a bit rusty - don't know if that'll scrub off or if I'm looking at new discs - but the rear door is very tight, no droop or scratching to floor or door, and all the SLS pipes and rear bags look clean. She sits up and down at the back okay. No sunroof leaks that I could see. All electrics work apart from rear offside central locking, which the dealer will fix as part of the MOT before collection.
I was quite surprised by the performance after she was warmed up: not as fast as the 4.6 (of course) but quite a sprightly pick-up. None-the-less I of course will think about chipping her to get a bit more torque particularly.
Only think I will need is a new set of treads (got another £450 for that) so any recommendations on something nice, fat, and all-terrain would be welcome.
Looking forward to picking her up next weekend so I can really find something to fiddle with....
