Hi again

We have a defender 90 with a 2" lift and a 300tdi conversion. We are really enjoying having this and the kids love it too.
Well we have finished our lovely pony trailer and had an adjustable Dixon bates adjustable tow hitch fitted to our defender 90. The trouble is the trailer is still not sitting level even on the lowest setting. Is there anything other than reducing our 2" lift that will rectify this? Can you get longer adjustable runners? Thanks:):)

Take the removable drop plate to a metal fabricators and get them to cut a piece of 10mm steel plate & then drill you some holes so it'll bolt to the drop plate and you can bolt a tow ball to the bottom of the plate Ideally you want the plate to protrude about 3 or 4 inches below the drop plate.

I ended up replacing my 2" lift with hd normal height springs just for the very same reason.

I think it just looked at bit shoddy with a dixon bate towbar adjusted to its lowest setting and then have a drop plate onto it.

Thank you for the replies I have also had a suggestion about altering the height of the tow bar on the actual trailer but when towing horses I want to be sure what ever I do is totally safe. I agree that adding extra bits to the tow bar will look a bit shoddy and bodged and possibly not strong enough for towing a pony trailer safely. Hmmmm do you miss the 2" lift Rambirkett? I probably won't as its quite a climb for me and the kids !! but is does look good :) and to be fair we are not exactly doing serious off roading in it so prob don't need the lift now. Thanks again everyone.
