hello Like-minded people...new to this group. Lifelong goal achieved last week, by combining two passions into one.
Now a proud owner of ex-military Series 3 109. photos attached.
So far i have done:
-> Cleaner the air filter inside out, very very dirty.
-> General clean on the inside
-> Grease and general lubrication of the weather station
-> Given everything a good tug, all seems to be OK.
-> so far 2 issues that need immediate attention, maybe someone can help?

Indicators don't work. the stork is new, but the indicators and the hazards don't work. Maybe i need to take the steering wheel off to look at the connections?
-- Speedo doesn't work, i think the cable is out at the back, but i have a feeling it may be snapped/broken. Is it a big job to reconcet a new one?

That looks totally unmolested and complete:).

Do a dig around and you will find manuals that will help.
Multi meters usually have 2 settings volts and bleep. but worth having 1.
Manuals will give you some insight into the speedo cable, I dont think military's would have changed that, so not a difficult 1 to look at and find.

Just a thought is it 24v?

Okay. A multimeter is a great tool. Don't need a top brand, something £20 or so will do. It will tell you if you've got 12 (or 24) at a wire. So you can see where the electric stops.

That, with the wiring diagram, allows you to find what's not working.

thakn you for the welcome. Looks like the speedo cable is quite easy tbh. i think the hardest part is going to be undoing the 3 screws as the overdrive is in the way. its 24V
