Hi there,
Just signed up to Landyzone today. Have been after a Discovery for a couple of weeks however yet to find something 'perfect'. Been reading through loads of threads on here to find inspiration.

My dad had a tdi ES from new, around 95/96 so my goal is to find something as close as possible to that - for nostalgia purposes, however ive read a fair few threads/reviews etc that say the Disco Td5 is far better?

Anyhow, going to see a couple this weekend, hopefully will report back with a purchase.
Any tips welcome!

thanks both - still on the hunt for my first Disco! Getting fed up with finding cars listed as 'great condition' only to get there and find them falling apart! grrr!

Well, it sounds like you know what faults to look for at any rate, which is a good start!

Hi all,

update: i finally bought a Disco!

Discivery 2 Td5, ES, beige leather. 2001, done just over 120k miles.
Previous owner even chucked in the dog guard, load space cover and a spare spare tyre he had in his garage - all after we'd agreed on the price!

Its got a few niggles i need to look at and try fix, but apart from that, im smitten!

Long term plan is to kit it out for camping trips to the Lakes, France etc: Boot storage system, side or rear canopy, rear privacy shades etc.

Here's a photo of her on collection day this weekend. I will post more as and when she's added to.
