I know how we all like a photograph of a chassis - rotten or otherwise!! No other vehicle enthusiasts focus on the chassis quite like LR owners, or should I say us D2 owners . Anyhow, todays job was finishing the chassis treatment, injecting the wax product into every single accessible section of chassis and sills. The attached images are of the my chassis prior to any works indicating surface rust but very sound and solid, rust converter then three layers of stone chip resistant underseal paint and finally today the wax injection stage.

So even with almost 180k miles on him he is in such good condition and i will only be doing 2500 miles a year, garaged and lavished in tlc as my petrolhead hobby vehicle, Big-Larry should last many years to come and remain in this condition. ...... touch wood!

Boot floor, is that another weak spot?! Fortunately mine is solid, clean and still a nice epsom green. The owner simply hadn't used it as a LR workhorse as most are, but it wasnt a school run chelsea tractor either. Garaged from new and chugged up and down the motorway to his place of work clocking up quite high annual mileages but fastidious servicing and repairs including all of the common D2 issues rectified along the way. I have enjoyed rejuvinating him and giving a full service learning as I go. Just a dashboard clock left to source and fit as Ive lost a pixel or two. Thinking of driving it to the scottish ski area this season to introduce my youngens to skiing without having to goto France.
 
Boot floor is know to be a collector of rot.

Yer must have the only disco int world with no rust.
 
The roof line along the top of the windscreen has small areas of bubbling in a few places which I am nervous about and will monitor closely.
