Hello all, I'm Bill, took delivery the other day of a 110 XS with 2000 miles on the clock. Can't wait to get it dirty and prove you should put a new one through its paces just as much as the old'uns!!

Was worried since its our only car and we got a new family but its perfect. Loads of room, comfy and looks awesome - dont know what all the fuss is about. Bad turning circle - put one more turn in when parking and you're fine.

Looking forward to playing in the snow ;-)

Bill

Welcome!

There are things you could/should do almost immediately. If it hasn't been underbody sealed get it done ASAP. This will prevent the underbody rusting that land rovers are notorious for or at least hold it back.

Get some good security. Newer motors are sought for parts. Disklok, pedal grab. Tracker too. If it has the bulging bonnet look into replacing the hinges for security ones. The bonnets are very popular and expensive to replace.

DO NOT GIVE OUT EXACT DETAILS OF WEAR YOU LIVE ONLINE! Is last piece of advice.

A pic as requested!

I got a disk lock and clutch claw that's it for the minute, I'm genuinely terrified of it getting nicked!

Gonna look in to the rust situation - cheers for the advice!

Don't worry, it'll be dirtier by this evening :)
i would avoid getting that dirty if i was you untill you have spent a few weeks sorting it out....

i would be extremly worried with the amount of road salt down at the mo and would garage it until i had prepped it.

do a search on rear crossmember replacement as its common for the chassis to rot fast on them....

I think that's a bit extreme for a brand new motor even for a LR.

i dont think so really, stone chipped chassis with road salt added with out pretreatment will result in that chassis being welded within 7 years...

i seen 3 year old pumas with serious rust issues...

I don't think that warrants not using it on the roads now, he's got plenty of time to treat the chassis when the weather gets better.

Yeah there's no way I couldn't take it out... I'll get it washed and treated asap. Taking it out to the Alps for 3 weeks at the end of this week so it'll have to be upon my return. Can't wait though!
