Hi there,
I have been recently been introduced to this forum and have been so inspired by the great advice and experience I have seen here, in the few threads I have read, that I have decided to start doing the repairs on my TD4 myself as well.
I have the much maligned 2004 Freelander TD4 2.0 but it has served us well with just short of 300,000kms on the clock with only a turbo and injector rebuild and a VCU replacement as major mechanical issues.
Ive had the occasional sensor issue or hose replacement etc. but so have my other cars so I cant complain, especially in that we have never been left stranded on the side of the road. (We have been to some pretty interesting and remote places with it including, Kruger park, Bakgatla in Pilansburg, Border of Botswana, and a few other trips of over 2400kms round trip each)
I am now wanting to learn about its inner workings and be able to repair and maintian it myself and so will hopefully be able to learn a lot more form this forum and the great people here.
Kind Regards
Rory
