Nice idea... For total clarity what are you looking for ?
Time and spannering ?
Money ?
Spares ?
Time and advice ? (forum)
all of the above ?
Thank you for responding. I didn't want to just jump in with all of my wants as I didn't want to annoy anyone.
Time and spannering? - I'm pretty good with most repairs and maintenance but I'm more familiar with Toyotas (don't judge me) so potentially some time and spannering with those issues I cannot resolve myself due to a lack of knowledge, equipment (lift, special tools, etc.), and experience (e.g. is that normal? Do they all do that? etc.). I plan to do all or the vast majority of work myself.
Money? - Money would be a great help but this will just be going on prepping this vehicle, prepping others, or on the fuel/travel budget, so spares and parts are preferable, especially as money is tight for many people right now. Although I'd never say no to a donation if someone can't provide spares.
Spares? - This is probably the best way that this community can help me, especially if people are local and/or in the spares and parts trade.
Time and advice? - This would be fantastic. Patience with some stupid questions I'm bound to have. I owned a 300 Disco so have some LR knowledge but the 110 is an different beast to what I'm used to.
I've drawn up a preliminary list of stuff to do and stuff to get, based on there not being anything significant to do on the 110 (fingers and toes crossed), this is the list:
Parts wanted:
All coolant hoses (I've already bought a Bearmach top hose out of necessity)
Oil filter x 2
Belts x 2 (no aircon)
Idler pulley
Tensioner
Windscreen wipers
Door seals (2 front and rear door)
Thermostat
Spare keys (to be cut)
Jerry can carrier(s)
Fire extinguishers
First aid kit
Rear door spare wheel carrier
Bonnet spare wheel carrier
Spare wheel with decent tyre on it
Various nuts and bolts, plywood, etc. so I can sort the inside properly.
12v LED lights for the rear load area.
Diff and trans fluids
Any spares advised to carry on the vehicle when going overland.
Work to do:
Coolant flush
Coolant hoses
Check for oil leak locations and see if serious
Check brake fluid and change if needed
Boost hoses maybe?
Sort wiring
Board out the load area for safety and useful storage.
Fit spares and accessories.
I did a little video that might give an idea of what could be needed. I REALLY hope the head gasket/head is ok. Oh, and I meant perished, not petrified. I must have had a brain fart.
