Hey Guys,

New member here, living in London. I'm a young chap originally from germany, who's lived all over the place in the last few years, owned a whole bunch of impractical cars and have finally made London my home and decided that I need a Land Rover 90!

I just bought a 2009 Land Rover Defender 90, 13.000 miles on it, loads of lovely little extras such as a roofrack, back bumper, rock sliders and chequer plates. Only thing is that it's squeaky yellow as it's an ex RAF vehicle. Well, let the building begin!

Welcome to LZ, Phil! :)

Being a funny colour may not be a bad thing. It may make it less attractive to thieves.
In the Smoke, I would look into some security measures, Defenders are prone to being stolen.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have thought about this a lot (I owned a highly modified Chevrolet Camaro in Los Angeles, same issue). I will get it resprayed as can't stand the yellow, but have already ordered bunch of security devices, such as pedal lock, removable steering wheel with steering column lock and am now looking at aftermarket alarm systems and a tracker. Also keeping it underground in garage. Fingers crossed.

Very sensible. :) The underground garage should help, and keep it in good nick generally.

Won't look like this very long :p

Actually agree it’s a bit strong colour. Attract too much attention in the smoke. Tidy looking landy though.

Welcome aboard :)

Nice looking fender, but as above, ditch the roof rack - I remember my Father put a sailing dinghy on a roof rack once  - he soon went back to having it on a trailer ;) Think the windage was as much of an issue as the weight o_O.

( like the cage pallets in the piccie too - useful things them is ;))
