Hello from the Northern Edge of North Yorkshire, thought I'd sign up here, no Landy as yet but plan to have one in the not too distant future, so I thought if I'm going to lurk on here I might as well sign up. I've had a series of cars and bikes over the years and am used to fiddling with things.
In the future I'll be looking towards getting some form of LWB Series 2A/3, not quite sure exactly what, but given the imminent arrival of a dog it looks like I'll be getting rid of my little Mx1 MX5, and hopefully replace it with a soft top Landy as a summer day/weekend/2nd car. May be one with a 200TDi in it, but may be not...
There's a few Landys in the family, My mum's husband has a Series 2A swb soft top, my mum has a Series 3 hard top (well her husband gave her it one Christmas...), my mum's husband also has a P38 and I think he's just got a classic RR of some description so I'm heading up to the Borders this weekend to have a look at it.
So I have a bit of a feel of what a Landy is like as a vehicle, 4wd will be handy for launching my boat (the current one I launch using my van, but the dog means I need a bigger boat, which means using a steeper slippier slipway...). Feel free to persuade me in purchasing something I don't really need whilst I go off and read lots of information on things I don't know that I need to know about yet.
I'll try and post up some photos of the family machines later...
