Ive just had a quick look around and i think im going to like it here:D

Il be picking up my first off roader in the morning. Its a 1986 Range Rover auto with LT230 transfer box fitted, LPG, 2 sets of wheels(a set of alloys and a set of steels with mud tyres), all the spares i can take from another breaking RR,(minus the engine) spare gearbox and other bits and pieces i cant remember at the mo. It comes with 12 months mot and all for £450:D

It does need a paint job but im just going to satin black it for the mo.

I must say its good to find a LR forum that's not stuck up its own fecking arse like a lot of others i have wandered across:D

I had it one day and broke the fecking thing!!!

Picked it up sunday, drove it home and it drove spot on, took it for a bit of off roading and it performed superb, the sound of the V8 makes me do a sex wee:D

Got home and parked it up. Had me tea(a nice plate full of sheperds pie smothered in gravy with a pea or two on the side, lovely:p ) realised i was running low on capstan full strengths and stout so i thought id pop out to the local Spa to stock up. Started it up and it started fine, i then noticed that id left it switched to petrol so i flicked the switch over to LPG and the ****ing thing just died and hasnt started since:mad: I have a near full tank of LPG and half a tank of petrol so it aint out of fuel.

Been ****ing around with it ever since whenever i get 5 mins but to no avail:mad:  Its got a good spark etc etc but just wont fire up!!!

I have got to the point where im going to call the AA up and see what they can do!!

I only hope they do a better job than the other lot as they totally failed to cure my rampant alcoholism!!!!!!!!

sounds like the change over valve isnt doing what it's supposed to - what make is it ? had one the other day that had half a seal missing, the rest of it was somewhere further up the fuel line - can you rig up a temp tank just before the carbs to see if it is just a blockage or a faulty valve ?

The system is made by Voltran, its an EFI and runs a mixer in the AFM. I did wonder about the change over valve thingy as its trying to start in LPG and not petrol as it should. I managed to get it to fire for a few seconds today by flicking the switch between petrol and LPG whilst turning it over but it backfired trough the AFM and blew the pipes off!!! Thankfully the AFM plate is still intact and moves as it should!!! The previous owner says he leaves the pipes fairly loose in case it does this so it doesn't destroy the AFM. !!!!

their valve just uses barbed fitting, which should be fitted with a jubilee clamp as i've seen a few come off - you should be able to simply re-plump it to bypass the LPG

TBH i aint got a clue were the valve is im affraid Sean:confused: Im new to LPG,range rovers and V8's!!!!!

I realy apreciate the help by the way mate:cool:
