Hi there everyone - long time lurker but new member.

I purchased myself a nice defender about a month ago now, a 300Tdi 110 CSW. Milage was higher than i wanted but it was within budget, had stacks of history and seemed in good nick. Lots of work had been done, including the doors etc.

I had previously had a discovery 3 which was simultaneously the best, and worst car i have every owned - constant faults meant that after 9 months it got sold. After some time i somewhat 'accidentally' bought this one on ebay... you know how it is! Sneaky bid in you don't expect to win - either way - so far so good. It has of course needed some work but ill save that for the project thread.

its the daily driver at the moment, but the plan is to have for expedition use. I plan however to keep it as standard as possible.

Day one i took it green laning and was very pleased with it and my own performance, at the moment the money is going on the mechanics and getting it 'right'. There are few niggly things that are getting sorted and then i can have some fun!

Here she is :)

Welcome to the forum bud, while you're throwing some money at it consider beefing up the security. I can personally recommend a skytag or similar

Hey looks nice, maybe when mine is all up and running I can join you on a green lane or two
Yeah that would be fantastic! Always have the fear of getting stuck when out on my own! :) let me know when you are up and going!

Yes, next job when it goes in is to get an alarm fitted - hopefully next week!

A money pit already!!

+1 on checking out Skytag as well, you'll find info on it in the Stolen Land Rovers section plus some other good ideas if you're putting an alarm in. Had mine nicked just over a year ago (and recovered) so have found the advice in those threads very useful.

Thanks - this constant talk of thievery is worrying! It is next on the list - i have investigated - and will look into others - cool - but expensive!

thanks there Shaun - yeah i like it - lots of little bits to do but i will make my way through them :)
