Hello from Warrington in the north west of England.
As of last week, I'm the owner of a 53 reg Discovery 2 ES Premium automatic. I've been searching on and off for ages, seen several for sale and scrutinsed and test-driven some of them. Realising I would never find the perfect one for a price I could afford, I've gone for this one - for better or worse! It has 129k on the clock, a full LR service record (main dealers then specialists) and a wad of receipts for work done over the last few years. When I got it home and read through the documents I found it had a replacement engine, starter, etc 44k ago. I'm taking that as a good sign.
When I was much younger I wielded spanners in an home mechanic sort of way out of necessity. I still have most of the spanners but no experience of working on Discoveries or diesels.
The knowledge and support of this forum was a big factor in deciding to get the Discovery. I would feel much less confident with it.
I'm now looking for a good LR specialist in the area so suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Dave
