Hi all, first post although I've been popping in for a while before I joined. I've got a 2000 Td5 with a small leak from the expansion tank. My local dealer has quoted me just short of £140 for a genuine replacement! Any other options, I'm not a tight arse but that seems dear for a bit of moulded plastic!

Second hand one off eBay maybe there's one there now under £16 or you can go new from Rimmers http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-PCF101420?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=feed although they are on back order at the moment.

Cheers for all the replies, I rang around today, and the best price was Craddocks at £120 plus post, again for a genuine part. I'll pull it off over the weekend and see if it can be plastic welded and take it from there.

if you get no one to help, i could do it for you (for a few beer tokens) but suppose you would be without it for a few days
i do plastic welding on motor bike stuff
also depends were it's failed.....
but a correct plastic weld is as good as new.
