We din't berate him. He asked for advice on owning a gaylander and we replied. Would you rather we said nowt and then watched him get all upset because we said nowt and he's faced with a £5,000 bill to fix it?

Edge, Ask any garage, breadkdown drivers, read any magazine review as to their views on the wisdom of buying a second hand freelander..

And no, I don't drive a deepender/disco/rangie, I drive a FL.

Better he knows that the odds are that he's gonna get hit wiv bloody big bills, and can make an informed discision as to whether to keep it or not. Honestly, if you'd read about half of the problems that can happen to freebies, would you honestly buy one?

said it before and i'll say it again. The majority of peeps on this forum joined first because they had a problem. Ergo, the majority of peeps on here have had a problem. This is not necessarily representative of the number of freelander owners with problems.

That said, searching on this forum for potential problems will at least give you an idea of what you should be looking for, and what's involved in rectifying it.

Good luck, he said smugly looking at his td4. still problematic, but not as much so, hopefully

If you like the way it drives, and your happy, stick with it
