Hi All new here,

Just got my first Land rover, a discovery 2, 4l petrol. I am based in South London. I Drove it back after buying and all was good for 150miles then it overheated causing the pressure release valve to let fly. Topped it up in the morning had a good look round but could not see any obvious leaks drove it for a couple of days no problem but again today overheated and pressure release valve did its thing There is lots of threads on here about this so am just working my way through things, must admit the amount of coolant problems these cars seem to have has got me questioning myself for buying it !!! I like the car so will persevere.
The Previous owner was in his own words a bit anal so lots of work has been done in the last 2 years with very little mileage, pump changed, hoses, thermostat. I am going out this afternoon to try the air bleeding thing but mainly needed a heads up about decent independent land rover garages in South London that anyone could recommend should it come to it.
Thanks Guy

Welcome :).

I am sorry to say I would be a bit suspect of the PO as to the fact he didnt know about this problem.

Had it on a 4.6 P38 could drive for days and no issue, but then would blow its load all over the place, But as you say read the threads here and hopefully its a blocked rad or knackered viscous fan.

Thanks Marjon maybe he did know but certainly came across as a straight up sort of bloke, he has moved country so its been getting little use for over a year. I am starting to lean towards knackered blocked rad as there is a big difference in the heat from top to bottom of the radiator, will get it out and take a look
