Evening all. After a few years having a break from landrovers I am now back. Turns out I can't live without one. Just picked up a defender 98' 300tdi 110 and I love her. Bit bruised and battered but very solid indeed. I already have questions to ask but thought I'd introduce myself first. Cheers all.

Welcome to lz, mate! :)

And well done for intro, many don't bovver!

Ask away, as it happens I am just down the road, on my canal boat on the Leeds and Liverpool!

Hello mate. I remember the last time I was on here it was a bit of a touchy subject. Haha. Runs right behind my house does that canal. Well my question is, This 110 ive got has a pto super winch on it. And the bumper is a bit scabby so I was going to get another. And I like the tubular ones. Only thing is I'm not sure if being a pto winch is it a problem? Will it fit any winch bumper or will it Not??? Cheers.

Could have one tailored, dunno how much it'd cost tho ...

Lovely canal, varied surroundings on the bank, and very quiet on boats this time of year.

LZ has changed in recent times, less flaying of noobs , more touchy feely.

Afraid I don't know the answer to that one, never had a winch on my several landrovers, I generally stay pretty standard. Pretty sure someone will pick up on that in due course. If I was going to do that I would check with the bumper manufacturer, I imagine the bumper will need a hole in it for the PTO shaft, they should be able to advise.

It seems the manufacturers are pretty clueless. I have asked an they all just seem to think the hole centres for securing the winch are all that matters?!? I'm a fabricator/welder by trade so making one isn't a problem. But for the price u can pick one up it hardly seems worth the hassle.

You can't be the first to have this idea, someone somewhere will have sniffed out an answer ....

Watch this space as they say ...

I think I would take that as a no. If you are skilled like that I would think making your own would be the best option.

How do I find that? Still trying to figure out how to use this forum thingy. Land rovers I do, computers I don't.
