Hello all

I'm Tipsy (most of the time except when I'm driving my Freelander).

I have just bought a 2001 3dr Freelander v6 softtop. It is a bit of a fixer upper but the engine is smooth and I already love driving it.

Unfortunately it has no service history so any advice on what to service first would be greatly appreciated.

I live on a small island in the Caribbean where Landrover specialists are few and far between. I think this forum is what I need to keep my Freelander on the road.

Thanks in advance for any advice (I know I'm going to need it)

Happy Driving

Welcome to the mad house!
As for the freelander im not really clued up on them but im sure there's loads of lads on here that can help you

WOW! Is there a LR specialist on your island? Or one of the other?

Have a look in the Freelander section of Landy Zone too;)

hello and welcome

if no service history you need to do a few things

get it serviced all the oils and filters

search for a VCU test and do this on yours to make sure your vcu is good, a faulty vcu can kill you diff ur propshafts and your transfer box (ird)

check the head gaskets to see if they have the MLS ones, check the oil for mayo and keep an eye on the coolant level
