Last month I collected my 1989 Classic Rangerover

2 day's later the petrol pump packed up and took several hundred pounds with it.

Today same symptoms, but on checking it appears to be an ignition fault.

No spark

She has new leads, plugs, distributor, cap, and rotor arm.

On closer inspection she appears to have 12v both sides of the coil.

Is this correct ?

Have you any ideas?

Thank's for reading this

My '89 Classic packed up the day I bought it! At least you had 2 days before she died! Try the amplifier module on the distributor next if you haven't already. I got to that having replaced the fuel filter, pump, leads... etc etc. ! No trouble since.

Good luck mate.

Many thank's for your reply

I had a look at the wiring and re-checked for a spark. Dead

I checked the resistance as per Haynes Manual, Amplifier accrosss the pins should be between 2k and 5K ohms. Mine is over 15K.

I tried to get one locally but Lancaster said they are over £80 and I would have to order one.

Before I do would anyone know if 15K really means it is dead or not ?

Or any other ideas.....

Thanks..
