After many years of reading posts when I was searching for advice on fixing some of my previous Land Rovers (I seemed to do that a lot) I finally joined as I seemed to of bought a couple of project Freelanders this week.

My wife currently has a 2007 2 GS which we have had since august and it’s a great car bought as our main family car and it’s perfect, previously she had had a 2002 1.8 Serengeti which we had for many years and then a 2004 td4 HSE

anyway my 20 year old daughter decided that she wanted a 4x4 so I found a 2009 Freelander 2 GS and bought that for a very cheap price thinking a few weeks to get it sorted and she can have it. In the mean time I thought it’s not really a 20 year olds car and although it will make a good car it’s not very trendy (god I sound old). Anyway I came up with an ideal car a-bit retro an early 3 door with the glass roof and found one straight away! So not only do we have 2 old Mercedes on our drive we will by the weekend have 3 freelanders and her old Mini Cooper.

the green freelander is in having a full service and the cam belt fitted (it’s on 145k) and yes it has been spray painted with a rattle can down both sides to hide the light scratches but luckily they had not rubbed anything down so I clay bared a section and it will come off! It has a problem with the central locking but also required a new battery but I will have a look at that at the weekend. This one will be brought upto a good clean standard and sold on as it’s no longer required.

the blue one I am really looking to seeing (yes I bought them unseen from eBay) it has 80k on it and looks excellent condition with all the documentation! The plan on this one is to keep it original and only modification will be a Bluetooth stereo and maybe a bulb upgrade as we do live out in the countryside.
