So our Disco 2 TD5 continues to munch up the miles and family duties, it's been about 5 years now and has become quite the family pet.

Now I've always been a ford man. I've had all manner of race/road cars many of which have been altered or fitted with different engines etc.... but there is some kind of land rover disease which we have all caught! It started with some tweaks to the Disco 2, then the odd excursion off the beaten track whilst on holiday, followed by a Sankey type trailer which we have converted for camping.

Now things have got a lot worse and I fear I need a doctor. I've just bought a disco 1 V8 3 door! It's an MOT failure as well

What have I done! How can I be cured? Where will this head next!!! :D

Pics once it's delivered.

:welcome2:To the madhouse
In 2004 brought my first landy series 2a 88 at one point I had 3 landy's got rid of the Freelander beging of the year

There is no cure that I know of, once it's in the blood stream that's it, You know when that has fully in the blood stream when you start buying the cloths and belts , mugs (scratche's head) like me:D

When I got my D2 last year I said to my mate all i'm gonna do is slap some decent tyres on it, 1 year later I've cut the front bumper, got a steering guard on it, Lightbar, Removed the EGR now looking at some tree sliders for it. So I know what you are going through lol:D:D

Well its arrived.

So sit rep....
3dr V8 on Carbs with LPG. 175K on the clock and little history, though the engine sounds healthy.

Failed the MOT in rust, quick look seems like the usual suspects,
Sills - inner and outer both sides, including mounts.
Boot Floor in parts - no doubt that will spread once i start poking.
Nearside inner wing front.
Offside inner wing looks like its had repairs.
Plus steering box/pump need replacing/overhauling.
Back Door won't open - from inside or out so mechanism looks chuffed and probably the hinges.

Interior would clean up and glue back in place!
Rubbers on windows could do with replacing and bonnet needs some paint...
.....otherwise ok:doh:

I gave £250 for it, mainly had an eye on the engine - not sure what for though then weigh the rest in.

Do I weld it up?
How much am I looking at for the panels - ballpark?

I guess if I did the welding I've got a solid Disco for many years, but then the bills will start - kenlowe, rad, set of shocks a bearing here a bearing there.....
