Hello!
Thought its about time to say Hello on the 09/06 I bought an ex BT 110 300tdi and been using the forum for the last 4-5 weeks to get it on the road ! So anyone who has posted guides and advise thank you. Not had an MOT for 3 years, and today it passed. Mansfield, Notts area.
Never worked on a car before and the defender was the first, few cuts and plenty of beer and reading with youtube vids! The hardest part was probabaly not having any tools .. like 0 so getting everything to start. A defender as a first project? For the price I couldnt walk away and thought its worth a shot, probably the cheapest running Defender in the country.... big statement !?
Some of the work done.. shocks, springs, turrets/beds etc, full bush kit, steering damper and arm, small rear windows added, new grill set, new front light set, new chassis preped rust proofed and sprayed which has taken the longest. Loads of other bits but enjoyed every minute of it being a novice!
Next is mostly cosmetic.. paint work prep, new rear door and read up how to get the drivers door shut without making all the local dogs bark...
Again thanks for all the posts and advice you guys put on here. Hopefully I can help others going forward as a total novice!
