Hi,

Being no stranger to old cars (I have a lotus elan and an TR7V8) I have decided it is time to get something a little more practiacal for use all year around and towing. Therefore I have just purchased myself a 61 88" 2.25 petrol and plan to collect it tomorrow (250 mile drive Exmoor to Essex!!!). The car is a bit of a bitsa, (only the front half of the chassis and body panels appear to be original, the bulkhead/dash is from a series 3 and the the engine is ex MOD) my plan is to tidy it up add some rear seats for the kids and use it for occasional trips to work and a bit of greenlaning, I also plan to add LPG at some time.

Hopefully it will make it, when i do get it home the first thing I want to do is re-paint it as it has been hand painted a rather poor camoflage pattern. Before I do this though one thing that is missing is the outer sills, can anyone tell what the correct depth of them is, I plan to simply fold up a pair, seems far cheaper as I have the tools and material.
