I have a 1986 110 Ex military Land Rover. Im trying to find a part for the door. It has the old fashion slide windows and the top of the window rattles around as there is nothing to support. Any ideas welcome. Thanks

P.M. Me I'm after a 110... I've got a Kate Rusby CD, half a kidney and a dessicated Pipistrelle bat if you're interested...

Please ignore the idiots.....

This is a common problem as miltary Landies are designed to operate in predominantly hot climates.

The solution is to remove the complete door and place in a pre-heated oven, gas mark 5 for 20 mins or until nicely browned. Allow to cool and stow in a suitably cluttered area of a workshop (some people have reported reasonable success using garden sheds but be careful to keep away from frequently used items such as lawnmowers) Leave to become absorbed into an ever increasing pile of things that will come in handy for something someday.

You may notice a slight increase in air circulation but the rattle will have completely disappeared.

During periods of heavy rain, eg early Aug through to late July you may notice some water seepage around the door seals but don't worry this is normal

thanks. now found it all by myself. big sticker for me. its called glass channel

There should be the fabric channel stuff but then also a piece of bent metal which pads it all out. If this is missing, you can make it the bit of bent metal from anything really.
