My steering has got pretty heavy since my mate pulled a couple of fuses until he could dry out the electric windows switch. Would pulling a fuse stop the power steering working or have I got another problem to deal with??

What model year L322 do you have?

If it's an MY2005 onwards model, then fuse 15 in the front fusebox controls the front electric windows, diagnostics, central locking and power assisted steering.

If he's pulled that fuse and not replaced it, then it could be the problem. Otherwise, it could be a faulty servotronic valve causing the heavy steering.

Ok so it looks like they have pulled the fuse that is connected to the power steering!! Hope so because I've not stopped putting money out on this car and I've only had it a month. It is already costing more than any Range Rover Sport I have had!!

Does your vehicle have the touchscreen sat nav system? There was a changeover in late 2004 from the BMW non-touchscreen sat nav to the Denso touchscreen sat nav systems. Your vehicle may well be the MY05 model, my Rangie was registered in 2004 (54 reg) and it's the MY05 model, so probably the same with your Rangie.

Does your central locking work at the moment?

As I mentioned, fuse 15 is for power to the front windows, central locking, diagnostics and power assist steering, so this fuse is the most likely culprit in this case.

No mate the central locking has stopped working too, hoping to get it sorted out tonight! Not sure if my sat nav is touch screen though because it doesn't work!! Water damage in the receivers in the rear
