Okay! A day of mixed feelings! My Sankey has been sold but I now have the money to buy a heavy duty torque converter from Ashcrofts.

I won't be fitting it as I don't have a four post ramp and arms like Schwarzenegger. Apart from the HDTC, do I need anything else? Seals? I've heard people mention flex plates but I don't have a clue what one is? I want to order the bits ASAP before I spend it all. Thanks in advance. :)

on a manual gearbox you have a fly wheel on the back of the engine .on a auto box you have a flex plate on the engine
a flex plate is much thinner

the flex plate is bolted to the back of the engine it also has the starter ring gear fixt to it
and the torque converter bolts to the flex plate as for changing the flex plate
that's your call to undo the bolts for the torque converter you need to take the starter motor out
to get to the bolt heads
