I've been busy making heavy duty galved defender doors, what do you think of them?
Frames are 1.2mm originals are 1mm
Skins are 1mm galv steel rather than the aluminium.
The main crossmember below the window is double folded and strengthened etc

Thanks fellas, I've made these to take the weight of oversize wheels, should be good for greenlaning rtv's etc without the need for a swingaway. I've got one out to a keen (mental) offroader on test.

Yes there very sturdy, they weigh in 6kg more than a standard door!
Pricewise they will be under £200, which is a lot less than anyone else and your geting a far stronger door that's not going to rust.

Thanks Thor, I'm trying to make a good product at an afforadable price.
I believe you are under charging for a superior product. You should sell at the same as other replacement doors.
And If someone says I can buy cheaper off of Ebay, well tell them to buy it there.

I agree, but don't tell him until I've bought one! ;)

Sigh.....

Does anyone want to make it more obvious just to make sure my blind old eyes can't miss it?

@ghound they look amazing mate, you could easily ask more and I wish you the best of luck BUT....

You can't sell anything here until you have 50 posts and as a commercial product you need to message accywingy and ask about sponsorship

Think this 1 deserves a break. This is not your typical spam. If any corrective action is necessary, then leave the thread but maybe lock it.

I'm in at £200 : )

What sort of lead time are you looking at on the first production batch?

Sorry blue im not trying to sell them im just trying to get a bit of feedback from members on the design/makeup of the doors and if they are a goer or not.
This was a prototype door and is off to a guy for testing around a few off road venues with a big oversized wheel bolted to.
Again sorry if I've broken any rules, if so please delete it, thanks Robert

Feedback for a prototype is fine and it looks like a great product.

The more people try and actually buy them the more pressure there is to apply the rules so come folks stop being stupid and give proper feedback

Ok Ok... Looks 7... but the singing was crap and I would only give that a 3

It would be useful to know. How did you make them ? How did you get the measurements ?

Which model do they fit (all Defenders from when to when) ?
Just need to be painted and existing fittings put on I assume ?
I see no hole for the rear wiper ? (is that something you could add ?)

Door Card holes are not present, Obviously most folks can do this themselves but I am just trying to be helpful.

How does the window fit in ? I haven't looked at mine but I imagine fabricating the lip for that may be tricky...
