Hi I have a td5 2006 and the spring looks the same as in the clutch lightening kit but my wife still finds the clutch heavy . Do you think it has already been done or does the spring look the same but operates with less pressure ?

I have a 110 TD5 and a 300tdi.

The clutch is much lighter on the 300tdi. We also had a 90 TD5 from new and that had a heavy clutch too. My wife never had a problem with it though.

If a 200tdi has a very heavy clutch it may be needing replacement. I had a new clutch in the 300tdi last month as it was dragging when hot, but the old clutch was not as heavy as the TD5 either.

What about one of those clutch assist kits?

Cost around £400, and make it possible to press the pedal with one finger.

hmm, I have a 300 tdi with really heavy clutch. I mean, like a long drive hurts more than a long run or bike ride, which cannot be right! Also it jumps in first when hot maybe new clutch will help? I have a brass coloured double spring which looks similar to this: https://www.paddockspares.com/clutch-pedal-assist-kit-defender.html
is it likely the same thing without black paint / powder coat or is it stronger and worth replacing?
