The heater in 2006 Td5 90 is a complete waste of time, at best gets luke warm. Is this a problem for everyone?

Hopeless in my 300tdi 90…new heating system works though when on winter drives. 😎

First thing to check is thermostat, if your engine takes long time to warm up could be it is stuck open and engine over cools and heater will give only little warmth.
Next a flush of heater matrix, old sludge may be restricting flow.
Another issue can be that even if heater gets hot the seals relating to the heater box may be gone and the warmth is lost before it gets to cab.

I followed the @tottot instructions, and now my heater warms the cab.
My issueswere mainly related to inadequate seals around the heater box and the plenum.

Once that was all sorted the heater came to life.

The thing with the td5 heater core is that, while it's a bit bigger, it doesn't really fit it the heater box, it's too big.
When you have warmed the engine up go and feel the heater box, it does a very good job of heating the engine bay. For it to be efficient the core would need to fit completely in the heater box and then for that to be insulated. That is a good test to see if the heater is actually generating heat, also it will show the importance of the seal between it and the bulkhead.

Going to give this a try too. Only feel a little warm air.. no good if it snows eh.

Also check on the corners of the heater box under the bonnet ,mine had holes in the corners due to the unique way landrover makes them !
I sealed them up and the heating did improve (slightly!)

Auxiliary heater burning fuel from the tank ?
I have read that the Chinese products are good value, but I guess you get what you pay for.
