I got another technical question.

When I got the Landy it did actually have a heater which worked amazingly well BUT it dosent any more.

Seems like the handle for the fan speed is now being a bit female.

What could have gone wrong, any ideas?

Sounds like a wiring issue, does it work ok at full setting? If so it could be the resistors which slow the motor have packed in, loose/corroded wires or the switch is at fault.

No it dosent work at full speed setting but sort of works at about 70% speed setting and thats all now.

It could be the dash switch not working properly. It's a doddle to remove and clean the contacts.

I take it then you just unscrew the srews around the instrument cluster and it all falls apart and reveals the fan speed innards?

Yup. The only fiddly bit is getting the control cables back in place but if you make sure they're fully extended there's no problems.

i had a similar problem with fan speed and hot/cold. the cables were slipping. a simple adjustment to tighten cables. try moving the adjustment on the actual heater box, not on dash.

Im begining to think my Landy is female......

My heater started to work again , all of its own accord.

Great , I thought, then it packed up again :(

It seems to stop working after its warmed the inside up to bikini hot temperatures. Its did this Tuesday morning on way to school then packed up on way to work but fortunately worked again today.....brrr..snow:confused:

I'll bet a pound to a pinch of muck there's a dodgy electrical connection somewhere.

Sussed it......:)

Having currently stripped the front panels off the car for prepping/painting I thought it would be rude NOT to take a look at my heater.

Turns out it was the actual motor, so I got a new one and have air blowing through the vents again...Hooray:D

Im getting to know the car quite intimately now having done all the stripping myself so far;)
