I have no idea what you are trying to ask, could you please just clearly what what is the problem, along with details of the vehicle?

It sounds like either the control wires have come off the selector controls or the pipes have become disconnected.

I haven't worked on a TDi 200 in quite a while but iirc you need to remove the centre section to access the control wires and pipes.

Sorry I can't be more definitive.

Thanks I just took the shelf out the passenger side out to have a look but yes next step centre console After lunch tho is it an easy job?

Did you ever get hot air out of the centre dash vents?
I believe you heater system is similar to the early RRCs, if so, then like the RRC they don't get hot air flowing through them just cold air so the vents had to be kept closed in winter.

The 300 disco like the later RRC have centre vents with a position on the rotary heater-control along with the windscreen and floor to direct hot or cold air

I can honestly say ( owning a 200tdi ) that the vents on the dash are for cold air only and if you look it has a blue dot in the on position.

According to the RRC owners handbook the vents were for fresh air direct from outside, a bit of a pain in mid winter as even with the vents closed they were not air tight, even moving the lever to the internal setting therefore closing the external damper didn't help much the vehicle just misted up quicker :(

Is that a problem still with the 200s?

Ok cheers guys.. I'm not sure I can't say I have had hot air! only had it 6 months I like to know everything works and if it don't fix it. Reading all other problem's heat related mine seem's to work with a smooth and powerful flow. I'm guessing there should be heat? first I've herd about just being cold air it's a K reg 200 tdi
Does anyone else get heat out the vents??? Then I know it's ok as is cheers again

Yep the sequence is like this:

Fresh air feed or recirculated.

Three speed blower fan.

Dash Vents or Heater Matrix.

If Heater Matrix, air temp adjustable by variable matrix shield.

Windscreen Demist or Footwell vents.

Must admit it suprised me too but it became obvious soon enough. My temp adjust cable is broken so I have set the heater box to full hot using an elastic band!! I only ever use it on demister which either has ram air effect or I use blowers on rainy days, v8 exhausts tend to take care of footwell heat (it's bloody roasting down there!!)

Cheers, and sorry for waffling again :)
