Hi guys n gals,

Quick bit of advice, just took my P38 in to a reputable garage re the interior lights not comming on when doors are opened, no flash of indicators when remote close and airbag warning on dash, all happened at the same time, gotta love it!!! All of which they are looking into at the moment, but have also been told that the heating pipes are leaking quiet badly and that they need to be repaired/replaced, dash out jobby, also the dampness/leak may be effecting the computer/electrics under the front seat. Having the pipes replaced is a dash out job and comes in around £470 ish, i have no question as to the work being needed as their a reputable Land Rover garage (not a main stealer) but is it something that should be done asap? Have the money in the bank but not exactly flush at the moment!!

Any thoughts?

hi, im not that much of an expert but if your losing coolant through the heater pipes then its not going to do the engine much good eventually. It also depends how handy you are with a tool box, if you think you can take all the dash out and replace the pipes yourself then go for it, have a look at RAVE to see for yourself the process of removing the dash.

As with the interior light not working and the indicators when arming alarm let me know what the outcome is as mine has started to not work when the doors are open and indicators not flashing! Have got a new interior light coming, thought id try that first!

is it pipes that are gone or the heater 'o' rings. the o rings arent to hard to do and you dont have to take out the dash!

ally, theres a guide on range rovers forum that shows an easier way of doing it,done mine, took 2 hrs from start to finish

heater rings done here a while back , £80 hour and a half job NO dash out, Stratstone Shirley (Solihull) quoted 8 hours work + 2 quid part, £800 ++ job ! lol

I can pass on the chaps number , email me

Andy

only took me 2 hours because of a rounded off screw otherwise might of been the same time of 1.5 hours, after all £80 is a damn sight cheaper than a stealer
