i know im lucky having good heating but when it gets to hot i go to lower the speed down and the heater turns off so its either on full or not at all anyone with any advice would be a great help.

Usually, when it only works on "high" your heater resistor is shot.

where is the resistor located and can you change for a new one.

yup almost allways the pesky resistor

Yep located inside the heater box near the motor - look for a rectangular plate with a rivet in each corner with wiring going through a gromet in the plate

where can you buy the resistors from cant find them on ebay

Not sure but usually to drill out the 4 rivets means you need to remove the heater box......

Mine did this before it gave up the ghost completely. Was the heater switch on the side of the dash that was faulty, the points were shot. New one is about £40 - £50 i think.

In my experience anything in between off and full is useless anyway. The fan needs to be on full for you to feel any benefit.

bought one off ebay last year just a simple inline resistor cost 15 quid,works well cant find it on ebay now though

yehup could well be the resistor. years ago I found one that made the slower speed slightly faster than standard I will search to see if I can find it.
