HGow long should it take to do the heater matrix by a professional? I understand it is a dashboard off job and does sound like a bit of a nightmare?

Heater matrix needs repairing (water was leaking onto the drivers carpet, the cars been in a week now (although parts didn't turn up till tuesday) don't want to keep nagging at them but not having a motor is driving me crazy.

Just wanted to know how long it should take but if it is just a few hour job then I am wondering if they just dont want to do it. Hopefully will get some info tomorrow.

Typical garage. Leave the **** jobs till last. and then make out the delay is because of the difficulty of the job and try to charge 4times what it should have cost. Oh and check ya mileage. they'll have been using it as runaround sanndwich run motor..

You sure it's the matrix? Sounds like the heater o rings to me. Is my next job to do on mine. Can't wait!

Took me 5 hours to remove the dash a few years ago and about 6hrs to refit. Impossible to do single handed, needs at least three people, you wouldn't believe how heavy and cumbersome they are. I made up a set of guide/support pins which helped no end in lining it up to fit the nuts.
Advantage is that you can get at the blend motors and heater components easier.

Should of got a disco piece of **** to do on ya own. :D and better motor offroad anorl.

Sounds like the o rings to me. 2 hour job if you follow the popular shortcuts. If it is the heater core then that is a bit more involved. Should have posted up the problem before sending the old girl to the garage.
