hello may heater matrix has always had a little nosie but today it is gettin rather loud .... its hard to explain the sound but its a bit like rice crisps in milk but loud

is this a problem as the cold weather is here...aprt from the nosie its workin fine

A heater matrix making a noise strange, the only moving part is in the heater box and thats the fan which can make a sound if the motor bearing is worn but only if switched on..
 
yes it is when it is switch on :D will this become a problem for me or do they last like that ???

It would be for me very irritating, I had it with old RRC (same heater) and use to oil the bearing at the opposite end of the motor and that lasted for a few months.
 
I had a noise in a 2001 Discovery II I had. It turned out to be a piece of foam that got sucked into the blower motor cage from the air intake along the rear edge of the hood. Maybe your problem is just as simple to fix. I only noticed the "squeak" in really cold weather when the fan was on higher speeds.
