Hi all, Not long since I joined up, not long had my TD4, but a couple of really little probs seem to have reared their head. First the lights on the heater control have a mind of their own, sometimes they work sometimes they don't! I've had the dash down and checked the two bulb holders at the back, and all seeeeemed ok. Is this a common fault? Anhy ideas to resolve it? Also tried to change the oil filter, used a 36mm socket, but it sure is tight, didn't want to push my luck, so before i used brute force, thought I'ld ask, is this the norm? Be grateful for any help.

Dont Know about heater controls other than bad earth, but as far as the oil filter, make sure that you have run the engine up to norn temp before trying to unscrew filter as expansion might just help the thing to come off.

should always have the engine up to temperature when changing the oil. When it's hot, the oil is nice and runny so drains out quicker and more completely. Also, it makes it more of an intersting challenge if touching anything in the engine bay leaves a nice red mark on your hand/arm.
As a top tip, loosen and then gently re-tighten sump bolt when cold. That way if it's stuck, you don't have to struggle to undo it with a faceful of hot engine. (remember to put something on floor in case it weeps a little)
