Ive noticed the heater blower has started slowing down and now it just doesnt work. Its never worked unless on the highest setting 'III' but only suddenly its just started operating intermittent. The ac/vent blowers work fine its just the heater iwo windscreen thats inoperable.

You've lost the resistor that controls the fan speed. When it is dying, it will only work on high. When it dies, it's dead. Your AC runs on another separate blower.

It's located inside your air intake grill above the bonnet.

Hope this helps.

You can get the replacement part from British Atlantic as well.

It's one hell of a job to get to the plug that's down behind the dash. I had to get her indoors to put her slim little hand down to undo/redo the plug.

Good luck!!

Thanks ive just installed the replacement resistor it worked for a bit. Now its just stopped working all together. The a/c works at different speeds but the heater just doesn't work.

It could also be the actual blower itself. The motor in the heater unit........ If that's the case, then you may be in for a bit of work as the whole dash needs to come out for a replacement.

Yes maybe but it works intermittently though. Every now and again. Perhaps the relay?
Perhaps. It is located in the passenger foot area behind the trim panel that has the handbook holder attached to it. At least on the Merkin version it is. :)

Edit; When it's working does it operate on all speeds after the resistor replacement?

After taking a look at RAVE, it appears that the heat and air con run off of the same relay, so I doubt that is the issue. I think Datatek may be right (again). Your motor may be the culprit.

blower motor..dead common problem....and they are right...whole dash removal to repair...not as bad as it sounds...but replaceing the motor can ...blow....pun intended
winters comeing...time to make a decision...cold or awsome heat...my solution was to find another heater assembly...with everything working and replace the old one...then fix the old one... good luck....mike
