alright guys,
has anybody had any problems with their blower motors. ie not coming on at all,what are the chances of both motors not coming on.one gave up the ghost couple months back wasn't too bothered as other was working fine but now the other one has went as well. need sorted asap,hate driving with steamed up windows fooking 2 dangeous.any help please guys
 
It could be a couple of things. It may be the blower motor resistor found under the vent cover behind the bonnet. it also could be the resister mounted on the heater core housing. either, when bad, will interfere with the operation of the fans! Also, i just worked on the heater core of my sons 1991 RRC and found a lot of mouse debris...(a lot of nesting material) inside the blower motor housing. I cleaned it out, sprayed some lubricant towards the motor and it started working fine. I also re-soldiered the resistor on the fan housing at the same time. But, check fuses first, the resistor behind the right side of bonnet second, and god forbid, the resistor on the heater core housing last! the motor could be jammed!
 
thanks for the replies guys,checked fuses and relays 6&7,all seem fine,u mention the resisters, what am i looking for and where are they,and the car is a p38

A P38, I thought we were talking about the RRC. Let me look into the P38 for more info on the resisters! The heater core motor resistor is mounted on heater housing deep inside the dash! Blowers in the p38 have transistors (not resistors) that vary the speed according to what the HEVAC ecu wants. They are located on the blower motor mounting plates and are almost assuredly not bad. Blowers often have brush/commutator probs and not rarely go out very close to one another - though this is always something to check.
 
When I first got my rangie there was no air blown out of the vents at all. I tried the fuses, relays, outside temp sensor, pollen filters and even reached in and wiggled some wires on the blowers.

After I bit the bullet and took it to my auto electrical mate, he spent 5 minutes getting behind the Hevac unit and reconnected the wire that had worked itself loose.................!! Works like a dream now.

I would suggest you check this first as I cost nothing to fix......!
 
can you alighten me on this as i have problem with 300tdi disco fan running slow someone said could be ecu dry joint where can i locate ecu if this is correct, Thanks
 
I had the same problem on my p38 when I first bought it.

Tracked it down to a burnt out connector, situated in the drivers footwell behind the bonnet catch.
