Hello all -- with winter approaching and the weather getting much colder, my 110 has decided now would be the perfect time for the blower motor to pack up.

With a multimeter I am reading around 7 volts at the two pin plug going into the heater box, does that sound about right? I'm trying to work out whether it's the blower motor or the wiring that is at fault... :confused:
 
Is that with the switch in position-1, you should get 12V in position-2 (full speed)?
Try turning the fan with your fingers, you can do this with the intake duct removed as it may just be a poor between the stator and the brushes.
If you need a new motor that isn't a problem as they are available separately, I certainly wouldn't bother with a secondhand one as who is to say that won't let you down next year? I fitted a Britpart OE one several years ago, half the price of the genuine unit yet on close inspection it was easy to confirm it was made by the same manufacturer.

That was with the switch all the way down, so probably something amiss with the wiring/switch too then :cool:
 
snap! today mine died.. not had chance to get the tester on it yet tho.. report back any findings!
